Jinny’s awards winning bakery was established in 2003 in the picturesque town of Drumshanbo overlooking Acres Lake. Initially Sinead (Jinny) made bread and pastries for the family business, McGuire’s Cottages. The reaction to it from our Irish and foreign visitors was so enthusiastic that we were convinced to also sell it to the local Centra shop.
15 years later the bakery now employs 11 people and supports other local business through the purchase of buttermilk eggs and other bakery ingredients. Sinead’s husband Pascal gave up his full time job to help with the development of the business. Jinny’s brand promise is wholesomeness with a strong emphasis on health while maintaining superior taste and texture. Hailed by McKenna’s Guides as a great bakery, the superior taste and texture of the products has earned numerous Great TASTE Awards for this enterprising energetic young couple. Jinny’s do the simple things well.’
Jinny’s bakery range features breads, scones, party breads, cakes and pastries. Their clientele includes independent retailers and cafes, restaurants and hotels etc.
Quality has always been to the for for this bakery which caters for the various needs of its customers. As an artisan bakery producing premium goods, the taste of the produce is prioritised rather than its quantity. Their target audience is therefore directed at customers who appreciate quality produce that enhance wellbeing and promotes traditional values.
Jinny’s production facility fully complies with all of the EHO regulations and has just undergone a large extension in 2018 so there is adequate capacity to meet the future growth and development of the business.
